Depression and Anxiety at KGB Bar!
denis.1.jpg
I am reading from the increasingly acclaimed It's Kind of a Funny Story with Samantha Schutz, author of I Don't Want to Be Crazy. Samantha's book is prose-poetry (or what I have heard referred to by the "kidz" as "pro-poes") about a girl discovering that she has an anxiety disorder, while Funny Story is, of course, an exploration of breakdown and recovery from depression. So it's a great summer evening! Totally free and, for once, not associated with any organization, drive or cause. Props to the inimitable Denis Woychuk (pictured) for setting it up!

Reading at Brooklyn Public Library (Main Branch)
bpl.jpg
I'm excited to be back on my ancestral turf with a reading at the prestigious BPL Central -- aka the Brooklyn Library at their flagship branch in Grand Army Plaza. (Please note that the Google Map is a little off--the library is where the circle is, not where it says "A." Stupid Google.)

Speaking at the Friends of the Semel Institute at UCLA
logo.jpg
As my first college booking of 2007, I will be speaking at the Friends of the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA in Los Angeles, California today. Thanks so much to CreativeWell, my new booking agency, for putting this together, and thanks to Stephanie Snyder for requesting me.
